About the Artist: Ash Bradley
Ash Bradley grew up in a southern California beach town before migrating to Los Angeles, and then moved to London and earned an MFA at the Chelsea College of Arts. The juxtaposition of living in retro ocean cities and Hollywood kitsch, with the more traditional cultures of the UK, formed a whimsical aesthetic that embraces a multitude of visual influences.
Her collage practice is rooted in the joy of visual contradiction—placing disparate images side-by-side to reveal humor, sex, irony, nostalgia, and the strange beauty hidden in everyday life.
Her work explores how nostalgic images of the past frame our current experiences, turning familiar fragments into surreal stories. Whether it’s a serene seaside scene or a 1960s motel crowned in crumbling neon, Bradley’s compositions invite you to pause, look closer, and discover unexpected magic.
